About BROAD Pain Care Consultants

Ours is a group of highly qualified physicians and other experienced clinicians dedicated to treating and managing pain. You'll see in the biographies below that, as Pain Management Specialists, we offer the board certifications, credentialing, and expertise necessary to comprehensively and effectively offer patients the full spectrum of pain management options. BROAD Pain Care Consultants doctors are among the few in South Florida to be certified in interventional pain management and are, therefore, qualified to offer patients a wide variety of fluoroscopically-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Our patients benefit with a team of practitioners who share and combine their years of experience and knowledge to provide evidence-based, comprehensive, safe and effective care for the treatment all types of pain.

Dr. Stuart Feldman

Dr. Feldman has been practicing in the South Florida community since 1995. He completed medical school at Medical College of Pennsylvania, and completed his anesthesiology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After completing his residency, Dr. Feldman completed a one year fellowship in pain management at Albert Einstein Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists with added qualifications in pain management.

Dr. Ian M. Schaja, DABPM, DABIPP, FIPP

Dr. Schaja has been practicing in the South Florida community since 1996. He completed his anesthesiology training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In his final year of residency he was named Chief Resident by the attending staff. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine, American Board of Anesthesiologists, and is one of a select few in South Florida to be Board Certified by the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Schaja has conducted research studies with major pharmaceutical companies as a principal investigator.

Dr. Steven A. Stein, DABPM, DABIPP, FIPP

Dr. Stein has been practicing in the South Florida community since 1994. He completed his anesthesiology training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice, and is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, American Board of Pain Medicine and one of a select few in South Florida to be Board Certified by the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Stein specializes in diagnostic and therapeutic spine interventions.

Dr. Andrew Astrove

Dr. Astrove has been practicing in the South Florida Community for over twenty years. He completed medical school at the University of Miami School of Medicine, and completed his training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. He has a considerable background in the academic world, including serving as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the Miami School of medicine and in the Resident Training Program at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Astrove is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists and the American Academy of Pain Management. He is a leader in the South Florida community in ultrasound guided nerve blocks for post operative pain management.

Dr. Charles A. Macias

Dr. Macias has been practicing in the South Florida area since completing his anesthesiology residency at Vanderbilt University in 1996. He has been practicing pain management and anesthesiology with Broad Pain Care Consultants since 2003. Dr. Macias is bilingual in Spanish and English, and is available to see patients in Miami Dade County as well as in Boca Raton.

Dr. Harvey Plosker

Dr. Harvey Plosker has been practicing in the South Florida community for over twenty years. He completed his anesthesiology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center, in New York, in 1984 and completed his fellowship at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in 1985. In February of 1992, Dr. Plosker established the pain management center at the Boca Raton Outpatient Surgery and Laser Center, which currently treats over 400 patients a month. Dr. Plosker is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists and the American Academy of Pain Management.

Dr. Nicole M. Todar

Dr. Todar has been practicing in the South Florida Community since 1997, after serving a fellowship in pain management and a residency in anesthesiology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, in New York City. Dr. Todar attended University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey from 1988-1992 and graduated in the 93rd percentile. She is board certified with the American Board of Anesthesiology with added qualifications in Pain Management. Dr. Todar is also a certified acupuncturist.
